Craftsmen call their workspaces many different things – studios, artist lofts, workrooms, craft rooms...for me, my workspace is a sanctuary, a little piece of heaven on earth. It’s the place I go to decompress, get away from the world. It’s my place to create what I hope are beautiful things that you will love. The words I hear all the time as people see and feel these bowls is – beautiful, unique, one of a kind, lovely, special –
“I just have to have one”
These words make me want to go back to my workspace and make more. I can’t wait to see what the next bowl will look like. I hope you like them too.
About the bowls
Each bowl is made by using cotton clothesline cord, fabric, thread and buttons. The cord is wrapped with fabric, then coiled/sewn and formed on the sewing machine as I sew. A coordinating button is added to enhance the bowl. Some bowls are made with embroidery. These bowls use the same process, while embroidery is added to make the bowl even more special and unique. The technique I use makes the bowls firm and stable, while being pliable. They will truly last for years and years to come.
